Genie Francis Drops 30 Pounds on Nutrisystem
The Genie Francis transformation story has attracted loads of attention on social media, as a beacon of hope to all those battling the scales. As a popular cast member of the daytime TV show “General Hospital”, Genie Francis revealed that she has successfully managed to put 30 pounds off her figure to achieve an amazing transformation. Even though she had declared her famous final attempt at weight loss in 2007, she has credited this success to her 7 month adherence to Nutrisystem, a weight-loss program of a different kind.
Francis openly admitted her initial doubt about the regiment, with her skepticism due to the amount of eating that Nutrisystem allows one to do. Having struggled with her weight loss woes since being a teenager, the weight-loss programs that ruled her life meant that she had to do some heavy dieting, even “starving” herself at times.
The Nutrisystem program allows eating foods that are anything but low-carb, compared to other popular diets. However, when coupled with a two day cardio workout _either some power walk, or some time on the elliptical machine_ and a 3 day weightlifting program or calisthenics (body weight exercise) routine with her trainer per week, it has struck all the right notes. “It evens out my moods, it makes me feel more peaceful, more positive” she declared.
In her first week of the program, she attests to have lost 5 pounds, which is scarcely believable if you consider the quantity and quality of her single day’s meals. She typically has pancakes and eggs at breakfast, a mid-morning bite of yogurt and pizza plus salad for lunch. To top this all of, a healthy dinner of a serving chicken breast with broccoli with a half a cup of brown rice and an icecream sandwich for dessert. “The diet is gentle.” she claimed. Moreover, “The good thing about Nutrisystem is that I’m more at peace with food.” she added.
Francis says key to this kind of dieting in the Nutrisystem program is the focus on eating the right amount of meals all through the day. In addition to this, it helps to avoid the kings of foods that make you want to eat more, known as trigger foods. Watching out for these trigger foods and avoiding then helps you moderate what you eat and eliminate the desire to go for that extra plate of food.
The program, according to Genie, has been a way to lose weight and keep it off, helping her counter her eating habits as she said “I have always been an emotional eater”. At 52 years of age it, according to her, seemed like a far stretch for her to achieve her long desired goal. Especially after dropping 30 pounds on a Medifast weight-loss program, and later gaining it as she was affected by the loss of her sister, Shelley Francis.
This has marked a complete transformation of both Francis figure and her self-esteem with this journey has culminating in her resolve not to return to the day-time soap opera. In Genie Francis’ own words, “It’s amazing what losing weight can do for you…”
